The final of the 600th anniversary celebrations - the ceremonial session of the City Council

The ceremonial session of the City Council was one of the most important events to end the city's 600th anniversary. Important in many ways. First of all, it was attended by the mayors of four twin cities with their delegations. The mayors of the cities of Lacey, Saint-Égrève, Telšiai and Krnov signed a declaration of cooperation, solidarity and self-government. The content of the document was worked out together, and its objectives were agreed upon by all the mayors, who, by signing, pledged their mutual support and assistance. The declaration was a formal complement to the partnership and good relations that are becoming reality every day. It is worth mentioning the solidarity of the partner cities in supporting the people of Borodianka in war-stricken Ukraine. Such actions show that the partnership has a deep meaning. It is not only a cultural exchange but, above all, real help to others in need. Each of the mayors also had the opportunity to personally congratulate our city.

What’s more, titles were presented to honorable and deserving citizens of the city. These were extremely moving moments. The titles were awarded for selfless work on behalf of the city. Love for their small homeland is manifested by the awardees through volunteer work and involvement in the social and cultural life of the city. We congratulate and thank everyone!

During his speech, Mayor Marcin Jakubowski referred to the wisdom of the writers, who have their stars in the Avenue of Stars of Literature. He also recalled the words of the anniversary ambassador Krystyna Gucewicz, who encouraged reflection on the future of the city and investment in young people. The mayor of the city, wished all residents to make Mińsk Mazowiecki their place on earth.

The ceremony was highlighted by an artistic performance by the Song and Dance Group "Dąbrówka". The young artists' performance of the song "Give a hand to Ukraine" moved the guests gathered at the Municipal Art School.

Unfortunately, a delegation from Ukraine was missing from our friend's meeting. However, the mayor of Borodianka sent the people of Mińsk Mazowiecki musical wishes and congratulations on the anniversary in the form of a short film. Surely this moment will be memorable for everyone. Let's hope that the next jubilee will be celebrated in full.
