Sister Cities Agreement

On March 9, 2005, mayors Zbigniew Grzesiak and Virgil Clarkson signed a sister City agreement between Lacey in the United States and Mińsk Mazowiecki. Hanna and Jacek Anuszewski were the initiators of the cooperation.

With nostalgia we recall all common activities, visits, meetings and talks What have we done so far? We have organized the orchestra's stay from North Thurston High School in Mińsk Mazowiecki twice and the Swim team to Poland swimming competition.

Thanks to the cooperation, we showed the works of artist Marek Chabrowski in Lacey. Jacek Nazarczuk, a pianist, gave a concert to the American audience. We conducted youth exchanges (17 times in total), official and informal visits. We have organized the Business Week workshop program twice. The musician from Lacey Ethan Tucker also visited our city. All the  activities undertaken within the cooperation were possible thanks to the commitment and work of the members of the Minsk Association for Cooperation with Lacey "MILA" and Lacey - Minsk Mazowiecki Sister Cities Association in Lacey.

Jacek Anuszewski received the title of meritorious for the city of Mińsk Mazowiecki. Kathie and Paul Perz and Virgil Clarkson are honorary citizens.

Out of all, friendship is the most important value of this cooperation. We know that friendships made thanks to the cooperation live their own lives.

This is what we are most proud of. We look forward to our next   meeting. We hope our friends from Lacey will join the celebration of the anniversary in 2022.
